"No. 25 Troy is ranked for the first time in school history. The Trojans (8-1) won a matchup of unbeaten Sun Belt Conference teams on Saturday against Appalachian State and their only loss was by six points at Clemson."

Must be nice. Troy went through some rough seasons but had the stones to run off the legendary Larry Blankeney because even after 2+ decades, if you are not winning championships, then you must go. Seems like every other AD in the country understands that, except ours.
They went out and got an up and coming coordinator, Neal Brown, for a steal of a price (much cheaper than Stock, can't recall his salary off the top of my head) and look at them now. 8-1, ranked in the top 25, their only loss by 6 points to an amazing Clemson team.
You look at WKU, you look at Memphis, you look at Troy, teams all around Middle Tennessee that we compete with for recruits and perception....and they've all had their shining moments of being ranked and regarded as a G5 juggernaut....except for Middle Tennessee of course. My alma mater of course. And nothings changing any time soon.
