FOOTBALL Let's discuss last three ballgames...

Liberty is a toss, and not because of us. Simply because of the shape they are in right now. Still though, besting them would require no mistakes on our part..a near perfect game and we haven't had any of those.

The last two are absolutely winnable, if again, we don't give the ball away. Still either way, offense has to improve. Three times yesterday we made it across midfield only to have 2 INTs and a punt.

- Liberty at home
- Bye
- NMSU
- @ FIU

Obviously the staff will have the weekly picks, but I'm leaning two of three here.
Our season is potentially in front of us: go 3 for 3, MT could be bowl eligible at 6-6! That is the bright motivational spot. Will we? I think if we play smart and relatively error free, it’s possible. Gain advantage on time of possession and be solid on defense would go a long way. Can’t afford to be one dimensional on offense and have any turnovers next three weeks. Two of the three are at home which makes the task a bit easier.

Still making too many mistakes offensively for me to think we can finish season 4-0. Does anyone know how serious the Holden Willis injury is, & if he's expected to return? Without him I could see us match last year's 4-8 record. With him 5-7 could be in play. A month ago I would have never thought that possible.

He was dressed out vs UTEP, so I'm guessing he could have been used in an emergency. Guessing he is back vs Liberty.

Holden should be back next week.

Liberty is a guaranteed loss. They’re going to be mad and we’re going to get their best. The Kennesaw game was a classic letting a team beat you twice.

FIU is improved and will be a likely loss.

NMSU is a toss up and one we need to win.

If MT manages to win two of the three and gets to five wins on the season it will be an improvement with arguably less talent than Stockstill's final, 4-8, team.
Way less talent when you factor in injuries (which we all know Rick loved to do).
