Obviously there is a long, long way to go. Interesting to see this, though. 11 seed play-in playing Illinois with a possible rematch from a few years ago with St. Mary's

Only reason he is projecting a play-in game is because he has Marshall as the auto bid because they are technically in solo first place right now (4-0 vs our 3-0). If we win the conference tourney and get the auto bid we will not be in a play-in game.

Has there ever been a case where a conference tourney champion has had to play in a play in game?

There are 2 separate "sets" of play-in games. One set is comprised of 4 teams (all seeded 16th) where the two winners go on to play a 1 seed in the first round of the big bracket. This first set is always comprised of the 4 lowest rated conference tournament champions (there is zero chance we would be seeded in this group should we win the C-USA Tournament).

The other set is comprised of the last 4 teams to receive at large bids (i.e. no conference tournament champion is in this set of play-in games). If we win the C-USA Tournament in Birmingham, we will go straight to the big bracket just like we did last year.

If we don't win the C-USA Tournament, then we would have to receive an at large bid to get in, just like happened in 2013 when we were the final team selected and therefore were sent to Dayton to play St. Mary's in one of the two play-in games made up of the last 4 at large teams selected.

Wouldn't it be great to get a 16 and then upset a 1. Talk about that story line!!! I still think we are 11 or 12 seed this year. Does anyone know how much income the school receives from our run in the tournament last year?
