I think you have to go with Brown game 1.

As crazy as it sounds, we have the starting pitching to win this thing. We also have the hitting to get shutout twice & go home. If we just hit middle of the pack and our pitching holds up, we are a good team.
I would think our opponents will save their best starting pitchers for games against second round and later round opponents than burn them in a game against the Raiders.

Charlotte, La Tech or USM may adjust their rotation, but I doubt anyone else does other than for matchup purposes. I think saving the

In this format, you really want to avoid ending up in the losers bracket. It’s actually more difficult than the CWS, which uses the same format but spreads it out over more days. You really can’t afford to lose that first game.

Charlotte’s pitching is not great past McGowan. If they hold him and Brown has one of his on games, we could theoretically steal game 1. If Charlotte saves him against us and loses, the probably burn him in the losers bracket because it’s a must win. I would really like a pitching matchup of Keenan or Seibert in a game 3 or 4 against any school outside of USM in the championship game.

Outside USM, we have the best pitching setup to make a run. We just can’t hit.

Roy Mewbourne once told me, “you win consistently with arms.” That said, I think he was expecting somebody to cross home plate. 😂😂
It’s odd. We have top 10% pitching & bottom 10% hitting.

If we hit .275 as a team, with this pitching staff, we are a lock of an at large bid and are probably in the discussion to host a regional.

I counted 8 times we held our opponent to 3 runs or less and lost. It is obviously going to happen, but that is too many if we want to get over the hump.

So, I received this email, apparently latech/cusa not limiting tickets...

The good guys win 7-2 over top seed Charlotte.

That was the most satisfying win we have had in years in baseball of this team can hit, we are a dang good team. ODU tomorrow is really the toughest matchup in the tournament for us. They will throw a solid pitcher and they can hit. If tough ask for Peyton. That said, if we can do it tomorrow, we have better pitching matchups from here on.

Only negatives, if any, were missing opportunities to make it worse (we could have stomped them if we cashed in our chances) & I’m not sure I go with Zoz up 5 for 2 innings. Those are minor overall though. That was a fun game to watch.

Great win. I am so surprised we didn't give up 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th. That's such an MT thing for us to do.

Wow, excellent win. This was the Charlotte team that spanked UT 9-0 this year.
Go Blue. A conference title, especially this year when CUSA is stacked, would be a dream.

Through 2 innings, good guys up 1-0. We manufactured a run in the 2nd. We have been in some trouble both innings, but got double plays in both to get out of jams.

Zoz comes in and proceeds to blow the save in a 1/3 of an inning, then gives up the go ahead HR. Going to the top of the 8th, FAU 9 MT 8

Raiders threaten in the 8th, but hit into an inning ending double play. Still down 1 as we move to the bottom of 8th.
