It's a 3 horse race. Us, WKU and Marshall. LaTech lost 26 players including their QB,RB, 4 WR's, and 4 OL. USM has their components but Hopson is a wild card right now. How the UTSA guy got in that article is beyond me. UNT and UTSA made really bad hires.

We get one of the nation's best OC's and not one write-up. Figures. I hope we catch fire and burn these teams.

I think we are flying a bit under the radar...and we typically too. Our CUSA mates are glad we are in the conference but they don't view us as a power. I would like to change the perception.

Our problem next year is defense. We simple must get better.

We've finished no less than 3rd in the east since we've been in the league. 17-7 in 3 years. We've been more consistent than any team in the west. 2-1 vs. Marshall and 1-1 vs. WKU. We are a power in this conference but it's time to turn it up and win the thing.

The D is a concern but if our O can friggin punch it in from the 1 and hit makable FG's, we will be fine. That was the difference between 7 and 10 wins for us last year. Our O should be even better. Should be fun to watch.

This morning as I was driving around the midstate and up on the plateau, I was thinking about our D and trying to think of one player who is an all consensus first team all conference. I had a hard time trying to come up with anyone. Really need the returners to take some huge steps forward. Defense wins championships - I still think that's true.

Your right about the turnovers and offensive mistakes but that was last year, I am talking about next year. We are invisible - 17-7 may be nice but its not enough to make folks fear you. Either way it should be fun.

I know. My point is Buster is half as good as TF so we should be a good bit better on O than we were last year. The D doesn't have to be that good when your O dominates. Look at WKU. Their D sucked and they won 12 games.

Only 2 teams has been better in the conference than us in the last 3 years. WKU (2 years) and Marshall. We'll see.
