Bowling Green Daily News article on series:

...The Tops are eighth in the Conference USA standings, and the top eight teams make the league tournament next month in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Their final three series are at MTSU (25-20, 15-6), at Marshall (the team directly behind WKU in the standings) and at home against Florida Atlantic, which is at the top of the league with the Blue Raiders-

WKU coach Matt Myers previously said he thinks the Tops must go 5-4 or 6-3 over the final nine C-USA games to get into the conference tourney.

That process starts against an old rival in Middle Tennessee

"They're pitching it really good," Myers said. "They're the best home team in the league. They've only lost one game at home in league. They play well in their confines. Late in the year, the ball usually flies there, so if we can go in with some confidence with this offense – we might be one of the most powerful offenses in this league – we might be going into a place that is a little more offensive." .....

...The Hilltoppers (23-20, 9-12 C-USA) and Blue Raiders (25-20, 15-6 C-USA) have met 221 times since 1911 as former Ohio Valley and Sun Belt Conference rivals. WKU holds the all-time series advantage 120-99-2 and has won 16 of its past 21 games against Middle Tennessee, but this weekend's series will be the first showdown between the programs as C-USA members. The Tops have won 9-of-12 meetings with the Blue Raiders under head coach Matt Myers, which includes a six-game sweep to start and finish the 2013 Sun Belt Conference regular season.

Fox Sports 2 will air Friday's game nationally with Ron Thulin and Patrick Combs on the call. Time Warner Cable customers in the Bowling Green area can catch the game on channel 552 and DISH subscribers can watch on channel 397. MT game notes say the series is in favor of wku 56-59-0

another case where schools should be on the same page. If MT had a team and it represented the university its games should count...

FoxSports2 ??? I've scanned a bunch of channels, found a dozen or so college BB games, but no MT/WKU ??? Where is it?

Glad for the good start to the series, Now let me Bitch:

I'm tired of making sure to be home to watch MT play in a "Nationally Broadcast Game" only for it not to be on my cable system. I live in the mid-state (a county adjoining Rutherford), have the only cable provider (with the sport package - probably have close to 40 sports channels counting HD and non-HD), and the game was nowhere to be found.

I understand the Athletic Dept. wanting to promote games being broadcast. The casual fan and prospective student/athletes need to be aware. But they p--s off loyal fans who make plans and then the game is not available. Nuff said.

Enjoyed the hell out of that series. Picked a good season to get chairback season tickets. Not many home games left. Folks need to get out there.
