ESPN hired Bill Connelly away from SBNation in late June, before he finished his 130 team preview, leaving the Big Ten and $ec programs uncovered. His preview of Michigan is a fragment, a shadow of the kind of coverage he was doing at SBNation. While his hiring was probably the smartest decision ESPN had made in years, like everything espn touches, it poorly serves the average football fan.

Phil Steele picked Michigan this year. They do get Ohio State at home I believe.

Also of note, I read somewhere today that Michigan and Florida State are the best bets for Week 1.
