MT Baseball hasn’t been relevant since 2009. Hovered barely above, at or below .500 for 13 seasons. Sad.

I don't follow baseball too closely, so I checked VCU's past years and they have averaged 40 wins the past two seasons.

Well, I respectfully see it differently. As best I can tell we will play around 55 games. Unless we have had some scrimmages with local colleges, we have been playing against one another for a few weeks. So don’t really see how one can draw any conclusions after 2 games.
Would be like me saying “well, the Braves have played 10 games and are 5-5, so that’s who they are and will be”.
I didn’t look at the roster but have to guess at least a 1/3 are brand new. Coaches probably still figuring out rotations & bullpen usage.
Through 7 innings we were down 7-3.
Hopefully they can stay healthy enough by conference play where we should have an idea of how competitive they will be.

We started out slow and could never get back into it. They’re really good but I think we’re going to be a lot better this season.
This has been a problem for a long, long, long time.
I'm old enough to remember when MT had excellent pitching in the bull pen.
Previous coach was “encouraged” to retire last year after 17 seasons and a record of 463-533. He’s now the pitching coach at Auburn.
New guy is 2-0.
But unlike MT, I never gave any money for a stadium upgrade at Memphis.
I’d love to hire this guy.
