Tony Levine @ Houston has been canned after just 3 seasons! He was 21-17 and led Houston to bowls in 2 of his 3 seasons. His record was as follows....

2012....5-7 (Blown out by an FCS school to open the season...)
2013....8-5
2014....7-5 (Blown out by UTSA to open the season.....)

Those type of results look awfully familiar.....

Their AD released the following statement:

""Although we are excited to play in our second straight bowl game, the expectations of our program have changed over the last five years with the opening of TDECU Stadium and the current college football landscape"

It's so refreshing to see more schools set expectations sky high. Unlike Nebraska, Houston isn't loaded with $$$$. In fact, they're probably flat broke after the new stadium they just built. Regardless, they didn't believe Levine was their man and his $1,000,000+ buyout was no obstacle. Kudos to their AD for not settling on mediocrity and for having the courage to act on his beliefs. Many AD's would have given the man a 4th and 5th season to prove himself and get that buyout down, but not Houston. With the Big 12 likely expanding, they understand what's at stake here.

I hope they land a home run hire and end up in the Big 12 playing for a national title one day. And it'll all be traced back to this gutsy, but smart, decision.

I'm so jealous.
