Best Food Spot in the Boro?

I had Nashville Hot Chicken for the first time when I came down for the FAU game in 2022. My buddies and I stayed by Vandy and Sunday morning got up to walk across the street and waited in line for Hattie B's. I mean it was down the street and wrapped around the corner. I just didn't get the obsession. Granted I was royally hungover as we went up and down Broadway after the game, but still. I got way down on the meter and it was still too hot for me.

I'm too old for that stuff. 🤣
That's because you went for tourist Nashville Hot Chicken. Prince's is where you need to go

UNIVERSITY NEWS Trustees to Vote on Proposed Tuition and Fee Hike

Good point. Similar issues came up in the past, & I posted that in 1980 (when I started at MT) tuition was only around $300-$350 a semester. If you wanted a liberal arts degree back then so be it, but in these days & times you better make it worth it. (One of the reasons to be so disappointed about the law school.) That's a huge amount of money for a degree in which there's no job awaiting you. Yes I imagine enrollment is down at many institutions. I understand TCAT enrollment is up due to real world applications. Which includes numerous opportunities for decent paying job placements right out of school. Plus the enrollment time period for a certification is tremendously reduced. Not to mention the difference in personal investment cost.
With today's enrollment expenses If I was a kid now & wanted a 4 year degree I would probably 1st get my associates at Motlow then enroll at MT for my junior & senior years.
My kids graduated high school in 2020 and 2023, many of their friends took that route of Motlow and then transfer.

CUSA Naming Rights

Looks like most of the G5's are in the $500k range on their football stadiums.
Using the packaging idea we have a few options to try out with a corporation considering a contract.
First the traditional $500k/year for one sight.
Second, offer $750k/year & they get naming rights for football stadium & basketball arena.
Or third using ewglenn's premise, a cool $1 million annually & the company gets naming rights on every athletic facility on campus for say a 5-10 year contract.
The latter would basically pay for a major coaches contract, or since the money is coming from an outside entity couldn't some of that also be transferred to the school's NIL program. That would definitely represent some big time cheddar for the athletes. With those kind of funds we probably could recruit & get the occasional high caliber 4 star athlete on campus.

Update on construction....

I still say remove the endzone bleacher and build a true beer garden there on top. Put the visiting team on the bottom, but leave the tunnel where it is and build an enclosed tunnel from current to new visiting locker room.
I've been saying that for years. Put in tiered decking so you can still enjoy it in rain/cold games. Add TVs and make it like an outdoor sports bar environment.

Best Food Spot in the Boro?

I love Party Fowl. I know it is horrible for you, but I am a sucker for Nashville Hot chicken and to me they are the best. When I visit Tennessee that is where I go.

CUSA Naming Rights

to get best bang for the buck it may be best to offer a contract combining naming rights for both football stadium & basketball arena combined.
This is a great idea! I know we’ve got some naming rights options available right now but giving someone that opportunity would be enticing for every company. I wouldn’t stop there, I’d say offer it for every athletic field and try to get a lot for it. I would think a company that could have their name plastered on every sport of ours would bring in a good offer. I don’t know of any school that’s done it for both BB and Football let alone all fields/courts.

FOOTBALL Craziest/worst conditions you’ve been in for a game?

This is my answer. I was wearing a pair of Chuck Taylor’s that provided zero water protection and I still don’t think my feet have fully thawed out. Truly miserable conditions.
@WKU 2008, 40ish degrees drizzling, high winds. Two of my professors(married), who were very outspoken in support of Blue Raider athletics but were primarily in attendance to support their son who was in the Band of Blue thankfully left after halftime and gave me a poncho and gloves, I might have underdressed...

CUSA Naming Rights

Just looked at naming rights for a number of pro stadiums for 2023-24. Many are currently between $2-$6 million annually.
Being a G5 college, & to get best bang for the buck it may be best to offer a contract combining naming rights for both football stadium & basketball arena combined.
Would $500k annually on a 5 year contract be in the ball park for a school our size?
UNT gets $1.4m/yr for theirs in a 15yr deal.
SJSU gets $580k.
Ark St gets $500k

So it's a bit all over the place but could be done. Even $500k would cover half of CDM's salary. That's a huge help.
