EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Kigen Chemadi capped off an illustrious career with an NCAA championship in the men's 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
I have seen no mention of this in the media but I must admit that I don't watch and/or listen to much sports media anymore. The place I would have most expected to see this reported would have been in Mike Organ's "Midstate Chatter" column in Sunday's Tennessean but he didn't have a column this past Sun.
Has anyone seen this mentioned anywhere other than the DNJ's copy (where is the new beat writer?) of the goblueraiders.com article?
Well, finally a "mention" in this morning's "Tennessean".
Of course, it is in the form of a full page color ad (page 7A) by the athletic department touting last year's achievements.
Now bring on the argument if such an ad in "dead tree media" is a good use of scarce promotional funds. As for me; I wouldn't spend one red cent on an ad in a newspaper which essentially refuses to cover our athletic program.
