...Stockstill confirmed that Bing-Dukes did not academically qualify after not passing a class at Iowa Western Community College.

"When you sign an (national letter of intent) and do not qualify, it is null and void," Stockstill said. "You are not allowed to sign him again in February."

The Blue Raiders still planned to sign Bing-Dukes following his graduation from junior college but because his recruitment opened up, Ole Miss swooped in and signed the former four-star linebacker....

Yeah I was just gonna say this.

He signed, but then didn't pass a class, which nullified his LOI. The plan was to "sign" him again in May, but...

for ole miss...

Whatever. He would be a starter here. Now he gets to have limited PT which is why he left UGA. Good luck. Sounds like a potential drama queen with discipline issues. We'll be ok.

Well....shoot.

Too be honest, if he couldn't find PT at UGA, what makes him think he'll find PT at Ole Miss?

If he wasn't projected to qualify, why did we sign him in December in the first place? Wouldn't it have been better to wait until February and sign him? We essentially shot ourselves in the foot by not being able to resign him in February which allowed Ole Miss to swoop in. Maybe they would have done so anyway, but at least then we could have used his spot on another player.

Just a theory:

After he signs the LOI with Middle, Ole Miss whispers in his ear...fail your class and we'll be able to make you a Rebel...

No reason to believe this- but the guy was taking one class and failed. Not unbelievable it could happen.

Doesn't qualify for MT.. Qualifies at Mississippi... #DatEducationSystem

He hasn't qualified yet...he has to pass his classes.

If we would have signed him in Feb instead of late last year we would still have him but once he failed his signing wasn't binding anymore.

It was the first thing that crossed my mind. It's not like ole miss would not do something like that.

We will be OK at the LB position. DJ Sanders and Darius Harris are the real deal.
