Why didn't football season start this weekend?

It does, technically. Montana and North Dakota State are getting ready to come on in a few.

My Facebook just did the flashback to two years ago today. I was at a game. I am so ready.

quirk of the calendar. Labor Day weekend starting as late as it possibly can.

We opened on August 30th last year. The difference of one day cost most everyone a week extra of anxiousness. Even Stock commented this is the first year since he's been here where we didn't play football the first week of classes.

It just means more summer for me. As soon as the season starts it seems like it flies by and christmas and cold is here before we know it.
