Is it possible a lot of players that entered the portal might never find another school to play with? Like have they burned their opportunity to find a new opportunity.

For example, I have been intrigued with a former MT QB - Kyle Lowe. MT signed him out of school and he later transferred to Georgia State and didn’t play there either so he is now back in the portal. Oddly enough he and DJ Riles, another MT QB, went to GS, which might have been the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen if either wanted to play. Since school has already started up again and it looks like he hasn’t signed anywhere, what is he doing now? I’m assuming he is not going to classes at GS. Is he just going to miss this whole semester of college now? Is it possible guys like him never play again and their dream is over? He could probably land at some lower tier school, but even their rosters are probably filling up right? Generally speaking could guys be left with no opportunities.

I’m also intrigued by what he is doing now. No school, no commitments (UTEP offered him, but then they signed another QB) so is he just working at Wendy’s and going to the gym to stay in shape? Seems like a waste.

That's a good question; I've wondered the scenario myself.

If they enter the portal and no one picks them up, but starts classes at the old school, is their scholarship still in play or are they paying out of pocket. Personally, I'm a believer in once you enter the portal, the school you are leaving should no longer be financially responsible for anything, including room and board. If you had an NIL deal, then pay it back.

I do believe that is where some of the kids, and the former MT players are a perfect example, could potentially be left out to fend for themselves. This is also where the know-it-all parents need to shut up; there are just too many intricacies involved with college athletics in today's world.

he still has a few weeks left, not everyone has started school. he may have to go down a level or two if he wants to play. If not he may never may again, over half the portal kids never play again

A lot of portal players end up having their careers cut short because of transferring. It’s actually a pretty high percentage. I will try to find the article I read about it. Albeit a small sample size (number of years).

Are we done with transfers and juco recruiting until the spring window? I saw where a couple more ‘25 offers went out in the last week or so. Are we trying to add a couple more to the HS class?

Could add a high school offensive tackle. Otherwise, probably done until spring window like you mentioned

Correct but this semester of classes has already started. If they add anyone else in the portal, it would be post spring
