6-6 plus a Bowl Game shellacking by a MAC or Mountain West team.

this team is capable of so much more. There’s so much talent on this roster and anything less than 8 wins is a disappointment in my eyes. Look at our roster and look how many upper class men and talented young guys we have. WR is maybe as deep as ever. RB we have 2 power 5 transfers plus quick freshman terry wilkins, peasant, and more. Stacked and loaded. Hockman will be the X factor. Line play should be there with more scholarships dedicated and good experience there. Offensive numbers should improve.
Defensively we have serious young talent on the DL and some good upper class men. Really excited to see what Ralph Mency, Zaylin Wood, Vincent Dinkins, Jordan Ferguson, and Jordan branch do this year. We did lose some key seniors on DL like Tyshun Render but these younger guys can be even better. We are talented and deep at DL. This will hopefully allow our LBs to take good angles and dominate. Secondary is super talented with Blankenship and Gregory grate at safety. Best safety duo in CUSA and top 5 in G5. Grate would be a pro prospect if he was 2” taller and 10 pounds heavier. At corner I just love Teldrick Ross and Quincy Riley. Riley has pro potential and will make a 53 man roster when he’s done here mark my words. Our defense is just loaded with talent.
special teams and especially PK is a huge unknown at this point. It will probably be the D factor in determining if this is a good or possibly great season.
I know some of y’all think I’m crazy for hyping this team because they haven’t had a respectable season in a while. But I’m telling you the talent is there to whip some ass. To be fair I have not looked at other teams rosters. It’s very possible everyone else has stockpiled just as much talent as we have with all these roster management rule changes due to covid.
the monmouth game is the scariest game on the roster to me at this point. We have no business losing to them and have far superior talent but Rick stock still has not had a team playing well in week 1 in the two decades he’s been here. I could unfortunately see us losing that game because it would be the most stockstill thing ever to beat monmouth and then still have a 7 win season
with the talent we have I’m expecting at least 8 wins. If we get a few breaks and special teams plays well we could maybe push that to 9 or 10 and make the CUSA championship game.
6 wins or less would be unexplainably unacceptable all things considered. We play the weakest schedule in the country and our roster is LOADED with talent. If our staff can’t win 8+ with this talent and schedule, I truly am forever done with MT football.
