No offense but why interview a below average QB who did nothing for us except play in the worse era under Stock in 2010/2011? 2 win season in 2011 with him starting in a few games? I just don't get it. I know he lives here and all and I know there ain't many who are still in the boat but sheesh.
Because he has a known podcast in group of five guys
I mean RG3 has mentioned them on ESPN before so I’d say they are pretty well known.
LOL. RG3 has been gone a while now. That podcast is about as engaging as paint drying. I tried it a few times and never could make it past 10 minutes. None of them have any real credibility let alone likability but give anyone a mic and an interface and now they are "known" and a big deal. LOL. A G5 sports podcast is pretty buried in the national media landscape but believe what you will. Personally, I find Murphy annoying AF but to each his own. When they had that guy do color with Chip, it was horrible to listen to. He was as lost on the broadcast as he was on the gridiron when he played but he's a media mogul now? We went from Kelly Holcolm all they way down to that dude. LOL. Sure. Crap like this is just one of the many reasons why our FB crowds can't fill a pre-school classroom.

I don’t care for their podcast personally but it is pretty well known in CFB. I understand RG3 has been gone for a bit but he still has over 2.2 million followers on X and has reposted/commented on their post a few times. At the end of the day they are a good thing for our university even though they can be annoying at times.
I wasn't crazy about his color commentating. But he has done a lot for the school. Go5G has over 14k followers on X and brings a lot of a attention to the G5, which I support. He also brings a lot of exposure to MT on their platforms which is always good. Plus he is a co-founder of Raiders Rising. Regardless of how he played here, he's done a hell of a lot for the school after and I'll always support a player who does that.
I think that's peachy. I'm gonna agree to disagree about his relevance.
He's the same dude that constantly blasted fans and the die hards during Stock's tenure saying we should be ashamed for criticizing Stock at all. Instead he placed the blame solely on us saying we were the reason the team wasn't succeeding and why the stands were empty and Stock and Massaro did nothing wrong whatsoever. We should just show up no matter what. He blasted anyone that did not go along with his BS takes.
I get it. He has a podcast which basically anyone who's board enough can have one as well. It's not a good one but whatever. He has followers. YAY. I'm glad he's supporting the program but I'm not a fan of the dude nor do I have to be. Just my opinion. Doesn't make me right. Just how I feel about it.

I don't always agree with Group of 5 Guys, but they advocate for & draw attention to G5 sports. Even though Murphy is from CA, he's made Murfreesboro home, advocated for MT athletics & done more to support MT than some who were born in the Boro.
