Hoping for an FIU shutout so we can get a new OC

Yeah. I vividly remember listening to it on the radio. We went into that game with a good record and a lot of hope, and then for some reason we completely fell apart. I recall a turn over or something in the red zone that would have put us up 28-3 and likely sealed it, and the game (along with our season) completely turned after that one single turn over.

I have never seen such a ridiculous series of events from the Hail Mary to the series were we had held them short of the sticks but the receiver fumbles and the TE scoops and scores. What a terrible game.

Just heard that Stock said "we've been consistent all season" in his presser. The last thing I would call this team is consistent. Maybe "consistently inconsistent"

excerpt:

...The Florida International Golden Panthers used a big first half take control of the game and defeated the UTEP Miners 52-12 to improve to 3-3 (1-1 C-USA East) on the season. The Golden Panthers outgained the Miners by a 518-267 margin and the Miners to just 117 yards passing in the victory. Leading the way for Florida International was QB Alex McGough who completed 13 of 17 passes for 270 yards and 2 TD’s. On the season, Florida International is averaging 26.5 ppg on 383.5 yards (255.2 passing, 128.3 rushing). QB Alex McGough has been the offensive leader for the Golden Panthers this season as he has completed 65.5% of his passes for 1399 yards, 12 TD’s and 2 Int. WR Thomas Owens (30 rec, 392 yards, 6 TD) and TE Ya’Keem Griner (20 rec, 221 yards, 2 TD) have been two of McGough’s favorite targets on the season. RB Alex Gardner has been a solid dual-threat as he currently has 361 yards and 4 TD on 94 carries to go along with 313 yards on 31 receptions this season. Defensively, Florida International has been solid as they are holding opponents to 21.2 ppg on 362.8 yards (226.7 passing, 136.1 rushing). The Golden Panthers currently have a minus-1 turnover margin and have been led on the defensive end by DB Richard Leonard (36 tackles) and DL Denzell Perine (16 tackles, 4.5 sacks).

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 2-4 (1-1 C-USA East) on the season after being defeated 58-28 by the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers this past Saturday. Middle Tennessee fell behind 52-14 by halftime and were outgained by the Hilltoppers by a 593-419 margin. Leading the way for the Blue Raiders QB Brent Stockstill who completed 28-43 passes for 296 yards, 3 TD’s and 1 INT. Middle Tennessee has been putting points on the board this season as they are averaging 36.5 ppg on 441.0 yards per game (307.2 passing, 133.8 rushing). Redshirt Freshman QB Brent Stockstill won the job over last year’s starter, Austin Grammer and hasn’t disappointed as he has completed 67.2% of his passes for 1803 yards, 16 TD, and 3 Int. Jordan Parker (67 carries, 334 yards, 4 TD) and Jeremiah Bryson (44 carries, 186 yards, 3 TD). The Blue Raiders have two great WR’s in Ed’Marques Batties (49 rec, 572 yards, 9 TD) and Richie James (49 rec, 588 yards, 3 TD). Defensively, Middle Tennessee is currently allowing their opponents to average 27.8 ppg on 402.0 yards (254.7 passing, 147.3 rushing). The Blue Raiders have forced 15 turnovers on the season and have a plus-2 turnover margin. Leading the way for the defense has been LB T.T. Barber (40 tackles, 3.0 sacks) and DB Jeremy Cutrer (22 tackles, 3 Int).

The Golden Panthers are 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Blue Raiders are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference games.

Florida International has been better than expected this season and have been competitive in their three losses at Indiana, at Louisiana Tech, and at UMass. Three of Middle Tennessee losses have come against Power 5 conference teams (Alabama, Illinois, and Vanderbilt) but they have to be a bit concerned as they really haven’t been able to get their running game going this season. Middle Tennessee has an experienced team that has won at least 5 conference games in the last three seasons, and as FIU has been solid, they’ve lost 3 of 4 on the road this season. I think the experienced Blue Raiders team takes some revenge out on FIU after their embarrassing loss last week.....

The Tennessean this morning has indicated "none" for TV coverage for Saturday's game. This is not the first time the paper has had incorrect (at least I hope it is incorrect today) information on our TV availability.

Do they do this intentionally to keep us "little" Middle or is someone in our athletic dept. not insuring they have the correct info?

dont worry we won't. this is where stockstill and buster do just enough to save their jobs yet never do anything meaningful. in a weird vindictive way I wouldn't be upset if FIU beat us 51 - -7 (yes, thats negative 7)

If we lose this game the wheels will come off.

I do not disagree. Lose this game, the next two line up as very possible Ls as well, and if that happens, two out of last three are on the road and Raiders likely limp home 4-8 or 3-9. This is a must win, not in terms of the head coach's job being in jeopardy, but in terms of just salvaging something out of this season.
