A lot of factors come in to play when considering a new coach. Are there coaches better at X's & O's when preparing a team, & making strategic moves when the game is in play? Possibly. But the other huge part of coaching has to be the ability to recruit.
Despite CRI's feeling on the matter MT is a mid-major school with a mid-major budget. After seeing Matt's recruiting ability here the last few years I can't think of any other coach out there capable of outdueling him in that category.
Basing things on recruiting ability. If CMI is capable of being even a little better in game prep & in game strategy, (for example proper time out usage) than his father, then he's got my vote.
