Glad for the win, & nice game from Boldyreva. But this feels like one of the least offensively productive teams MT women's basketball has produced in years of play.La Tech spent entire 1st quarter at free throw line with some questionable calls
I think a lot of the issues revolve around the offense. Coaches seem to be convinced they need to work on defense constantly but any glance at the hot mess when we're trying to score shows what the real problem area is.We just aren’t the team we should be. Great talent but something’s not right

Totally agree with everything you said. The pieces are all there, it's on the coaches to put it together! The ladies have played an EXTREMELY tough schedule this year and done a great job against it. I like our chances to 1) win CUSA, 2) win the tournament, and 3) get into and win a couple NCAA games -- if we hit a good stride. We became very used to having a "go to" offensive leader in Wheeler the past 2 years. Our defense is as good as any team we've ever played. For example, not a lot of people can say they led Purdue, Iowa State, & Kansas State coming out of half time. I'm ok with preaching defense, but when your starters play 95% of the game & you lead the nation in zero bench production your top 5 are going to be exhausted by the end.
That also may have something to do with a down turn in our offense. We're just wearing down, & to shoot well you must have your legs about you.
I salute the ladies for their effort, & don't really blame them for poor offense this year. I put this more on the coaches for wearing our starters out. Our legs just aren't there.
