McDevitt's recruiting chops put to test immediately

excerpt:

MTSU has not offered any players since McDevitt’s arrival, according to 247Sports, though its targets are slowly coming into focus.

CBS analyst Jon Rothstein reported Arkansas transfer C.J. Jones will visit MTSU this weekend, and that South Carolina grad transfer Kory Holden was receiving interest from MTSU, among five other teams. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported that UNC-Asheville’s top player, 6-foot-3 sophomore guard Macio Teague, had received his release to transfer, making him a potential MTSU target.

247 Sports may be correct but VerbalCommits has MT offering Dexter Dennis on 3/31 which incidentally is the same day he was offered by Ole Miss. He has been an UNCA offer since last fall.

Regardless, a little concerning that McDevitt didn't have the names of at least a couple of unsigned high-mid-major prospects in his back pocket that he had some relationship with even if he hadn't offered for UNCA. It does look as if McDevitt takes a different approach than Davis. It seemed as if Davis used the shotgun approach throwing a lot of offers out while it appears McDevitt takes a more selective method.

I am somewhat dismayed that two of the prospects mentioned would have to sit out a year (surely we won't take both of them) and that none of the players mentioned are "bigs" which McDevitt has mentioned as crucial for next year.
