Lady Raiders (18-6, 12-2) @ WKU (22-4, 11-2), Saturday 2PM

wbko:

...Middle Tennessee has won 12 straight against WKU and five in a row
inside E.A. Diddle Arena. Western Kentucky seniors Chastity Gooch,
Alexis Govan and Ileana Johnson were freshmen in high school the last
time WKU beat it's nemesis - 65-49 in the 2008 Sun Belt Conference
tournament.

Dating back to 2001, WKU is 10-23 against the team from Murfreesboro, Tenn.

"It's only two (straight losses) since I've been
here," Heard said. "That's what we're gonna talk about. And both of
those games, we were in those ballgames. We're gonna take care of what
we need to for now and really just talk about the opportunity that we
have that lies in front of us."

A win for either team at 2 p.m. Saturday won't do
much to help clarify the CUSA title race yet. Southern Mississippi sits
1/2-game behind WKU in the standings - the Golden Eagles swept MTSU
during the year while splitting against Western Kentucky.

The Lady Raiders and USM will have three league
games remaining after Saturday's contest while Western Kentucky will
have four to go. A win for Heard's team would give them the inside track
to a title - but more importantly help them clear perhaps the biggest
hurdle of all: Beating Middle.

"With social media and everything that's out
there, it's all publicized," Heard said. "I think they're just excited
to get in here and play on our home court.

"Home court advantage is always a positive - and
it's been great for us. We're 11-1 here at home and we're excited to
have the opportunity to be here and to have a chance to get our fans out
to be able to support (us)." .....

WKU, MT set for showdown Saturday in E.A. Diddle

Even though neither GoBlueRaiders.com or The TV listings in The Tennessean show the game from BG being shown on TV my on-screen channel guide shows it on 702 Comcast. Thanks to Borthick's DNJ article for showing the game is on Fox College Sports or I would not have known the game might be available and would not have looked.
