FOOTBALL Kennesaw Coach Fired

I wouldn’t be shocked. I haven’t heard anything one way or the other but I honestly don’t think it would be the end of the world.

Nick has moments where he is really good and times where he has protection and doesn’t go through his progressions and just checks it down.

Look at nearly every game when he is running a 2 min offense. Just about every play is a check down. A qb has to be willing to take some risk when the game is on the line. It isn’t like we were trying to protect the lead.
Something I thought in multiple games was that Bodie needed to take away the check down option for Nick if we’re running a 2 minute offense. Use the check down man as another legit route runner to open up defenses. If there isn’t anything there Nick can either throw it away or use his legs (which we didn’t do enough of).

I really, really think that teams at our level need to built offenses around mobile, running QBs.

They're easier to find than the gunslinging pocket passers, you can get by with a so-so OL, and in 35 years or so of watching football, that's one thing that a defense really hasn't been able to counter if that QB is able to execute on that day.

NV has some legs but we didn't use him that way enough, IMHO.

That’s the opposite of DM wants. Our offense is going to anemic while he’s our coach. That’s just the way it is.

This is where I am.

I wouldn't blame anyone. I checked out for about 5 of Stock's last years.

At the end of the day though, none of us have any control over any of it. The positive and negative person both end up in the same place, but the positive person has a better time getting there.

IMHO, at least we appear to be operating (at this moment) like a team that is trying to succeed. They're building facilities. They've fired the last staff and brought in a guy with a bonified resume (whether he was yours or my first choice), there appears to be a genuine effort on the recruiting trail that I like (TN focused, and they appear to be competing with other programs at our level for recruits rather than FCS whoevers). Will it work out? Who knows.

It's always hard to demand results, because sports are weird and you can do everything right and still lose. But you can demand effort, and I think right now that we're putting in the effort.

There's lots of ways to win football games. The way i'd do might not be the way someone else would do it.

Army just won the AAC passing for 83 yds per game.

Heck, look at the CUSA title game - JAX essentially ran the Rich Rod semi-wildcat (IMHO, my preferred offense at our level), and beat WKU who barely ran their QB all year under Helton's pro-style.

I'm not sure our offense was the main culprit in our bad year. We had trouble punching it in for sure, but we racked up yards.

We got a lot of problems, but IMHO, we lacked athletes and talent in the back 7 on D, if I had to put my finger on the main reason we sucked.
