As much as I like MT's traditional look, silver helmet, etc., (and used to sneer at discussions on uniform changes) it's clear tradition doesn't play much if any of a role in a recruit's view of a team's uniforms.

in this radio interview, starting about the 1230 mark, the guy being interviewed revealed that :

43% of the recruits responding favored modern uniforms, but only 5% of the recruits favored classic uniforms

Not surprising. Kids love flash - the crazier and louder the uniform's the better.
