Head Baseball Coach

I wonder if Steve Smith harbored resentment toward Donnelly, Stanford, or Peterson. There is no justification for the poor performance of football, baseball, and basketball, or the removal of their broadcasts from WMOT, apart from sabotage.

I honestly think the whole leadership group (M&M and crew) are just so risk averse, they'd rather chug along then make changes that might lead to greater achievement. You can see it in their own job fortunes - how long have they been here at a G5 mid-level program/school - why haven't they attempted to move up in the athletic/academic world?

We saw it with the football program - they would have rolled with Stock forever if the lack of fan support hadn't reached a critical point. Now, that's football, so it matter if your fan base dwindles. If your football team is bad, you lose enough support to hurt.

Baseball isn't the front porch or the sport that brings in the funds, so it will likely never get to that point where they feel like they will need to make a change. If your baseball team is good or bad, that probably doesn't move the fan needle too much in either direction.

It's just easier to roll with mediocrity than but in the effort or risk.

I can’t even expect a disruptor to be hired in leadership because I am fully convinced (thanks Lynn) that everything is intentional at the highest level.

Keep MT in their place.

Look at what Alabama did to UAB. Look what a UT student did to our chances at a Law school.

This school will always be intended to be little or kept in its place.

Except it really wasn’t Bama. It was largely just a small group of influential Bama boosters and only toward football. UAB thrives as an academic institution.

AFAIK no other state is as overtly and egregiously hostile to a member state school like this state. Combine that with incompetent leadership incapable of fighting for itself and this Univ just gets rolled over like new hot pavement.
