Is it safe to assume since he is from the same general area as NMD that their collective paths have crossed many times and he is a known quantity? Only potential downside might be their redundancy in recruiting the same areas in the past.
Looks like a safe hire. Hope the good recruiting continues with Dixon gone
I don't know Coach Wilson personally so no initial thoughts outside of what I've read and heard second-hand- word is he's a good recruiter/evaluator and has been noted for player development- he coached for programs that had noted improvement while he was there so seems like a good fit..
I was familiar with Wilson as a HS player as he was a finalist for NC 2A POY honors and 2-time conference POY coming out of Lincolnton HS.. CNM and Larry Hunter are friends so I'm sure there's familiarity- I imagine CNM recruited Wilson out of HS, coached against him when Wilson was at Western Carolina (playing and coaching)- but I don't know anything specific yet about the connection.
