I'm going to be knee-deep in my tape recorder for the next 24 hours or so (and dealing with a sick, pregnant wife), but wanted to pass along a couple of notes on some unanswered questions for you guys.

Jamarcus Howard was a name that came through late last night. I'm not sure on what happened with Texas Tech, but he ended up not signing with them. He was, however, never on the board with MT officially. He's actually taking some days to sort things out. MT is looking to bring him to town on a visit this weekend, but the longer this goes, the worse it will be from Middle. Looks like Louisville and some other schools could show some interest and jump in here, but if MT can actually get him to campus this weekend, they could get him to pull the trigger. He'd be a big boost to the class - much better than Khiry Lucas IMO.

Joseph Alexander signed with Kennesaw State, but again, he was never officially on board with MT. They liked him, but I think they'll look elsewhere for a DT. This could come from a JUCO or HS prospect that is a late qualifier. Won't matter to MT, although I think they would prefer a HS prospect at the position.

As for Rollins-Davis, he was back and forth with MT for months, but ultimately, I think the depth chart (not Herrod signing) along with his desire to get out of Tennessee is what landed him at stAte. He built a good relationship with that staff, too, but ultimately, MT was fighting things that were very much out of their control.

Remember when I said that MT would look to sign 27 prospects this year? Well, I think 25 will be the final magic number here now. Next year's class is going to be VERY thin, so they'll hold those extra two scholarships over to help with total numbers next year.
