Conference USA officials meet this week in Florida, but football schedules not on the agenda

Conference USA's presidents and athletic directors are meeting this week in Boca Raton, Fla., but the 2016 football schedules will not be finalized there.

C-USA football schedules were announced shortly after conference officials met in January of last year, but associate commissioner Courtney Morrison-Archer said football schedules won't be released this week.

The meetings began Monday night and are expected to extend through Thursday.

The conference's new television package is expected to be the prime topic for discussion. The league's TV contracts with Fox Sports, the CBS Sports Network and the American Sports Network all expire in July, as does the contract with ESPN to televise the football championship game.

We reported two weeks ago that C-USA is close to new finalizing deals with Fox Sports and the CBS Sports Network that will provide C-USA with significantly less revenue than the previous contract.....
