This is why I think the playoff format should shift and expand. That way a G5 team who runs the table gets a chance to play for a national title. For instance, it would have been interesting to see that Boise State team or that UCF team compete in a playoff setting...

playoff is expanding to include more P5 teams and maybe the highest rated after that. There will never be a real shot, just bowl gamers for TV space. The FCS playoffs will expand again
