Facebook groups... Just search MTSU parents' page... some say class of XXXX

Enter if you dare. It is a lot of drama and there is a bit of helicopter parenting, even at the collegiate level. It is not just MT based on conversations with other parents with other universities. Every university parent page is like this.

There are very good bits of information all around. But to the point of housing, it seems like there are always a bunch who either waited to the last minute or it is just that hard to come by. When my son was on campus, We registered for housing about 9-10 months in advance.

The facebook group that is probably the most used is MTSU Parent and Family Association

Also, each college at MT typically has its own parent group as well.

You not kidding... I ended up leaving because of the insanity.

These parents asking simple questions that is plainly on the academic calendar, but too lazy to look it up. Miss State's was every bit as bad.

Both my kids (two different university's) said the student pages were full of the same stuff. Questions that they could easily look up faster than typing it into the group pages.

Get on Facebook and search MTSU parent pages. Some are specific for Class of 'XX.

If you don't have a kid there, it's not worth your effort. You going to burn some brain cells just reading the posts and seeing the laziness of parents.

Not to mention the helicopter parenting JohnDavidBlue mentioned.

Looks like it will be an Aloft Marriott branded hotel.

Reading this article, it looks like the hotel will go in the parking lot across the street from campus. not next to the entrance to murphy center. But the streets are not named correctly either.

If that is a rooftop bar, which it looks like; that will be nice.

Looks like dealing with the city will take as long as the construction phase.

Correct on both accounts. A few months back, burried in some other announcements, was the decision to move it to the old funeral home lot, which is at the corner of Greenland/MT Blvd. So the location is correct, but the names are backwards on that map.

The old Woodfin lot makes 1000% more sense than next to the murphy center. A rooftop restaurant / bar would be amazing.

I'd go check out the rooftop bar myself... Rent rooms to visiting teams for all sports would help a ton as well.
