BRAA Dinner

Nothing new was discussed which would excite posters.

Food was very so-so. Attendance seemed a little down from last year. Some of those who dressed very casually last year (even some in shorts and T-shirts even though it was advertised as a semi-formal event) either didn't come this year or got the message about dress.

Bowden wasn't the best speaker (poor in comparison to Gumble last year) and spent way-way too much time encouraging donations to keep up with the facility arms race - Said the same thing over and over in similar ways. Only a couple of good jokes.

Overall a nice event but paled in comparison to last year which was the first at Embassy Suites. Can't complain about the venue. And oh yeah, the beer at the cash bar was cold but the selection was very limited which shouldn't surprise anyone.

I agree. I thought Bowden was terrible. He basically trashed our program saying we could not compete with the Clemson of the world. Said we should focus on Marshall and La Tech. Kept saying he only knew one person at our school.
I wouldn't walk across the street to hear him speak.

Why would they bring a turd like that in there to listen to? Sheesh. You gotta build a frenzy of excitement and you won't ever do it that way.
