The Battle for Atlantis is in Bahamas and MT will be in it in 2018.

This season, MT is in the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii in December with last game on Christmas Day.

That is great! This is all some big time stuff. Looks like the last 5-6 years of outstanding success and 2 recent NCAA wins are starting to yield big results on the national stage for the team and Kermit.

As is already mentioned, these sort of big tropical tourneys around the holidays has to be great for recruiting.

I think you're letting your cynicism get the better of you on this one. This is a great development for the basketball program and the university just to be invited to this event.

Yea, I gotta agree with Randall on this one. This isn't anything like some of this questionable perception surrounding MT at a couple of the bowl games. First, Kermit and the team have clearly earned this and are deserving. Secondly, this is a huge big time early season tournament. You hope your team is good enough and perceived to be good enough to be invited. Lastly, it seems this tourney is financially beneficial for the participant programs.

It seems this tournament has risen to the level of runner up to the big Hawaii tourney, the Maui invitational or whatever they call it. It has seemed to be the prestigious elite tourney for years. It seemed the Great Alaska Shootout used to be one of the elite early season tourneys. Now it seems like a solid tourney for G5 type programs which is a big step backwards for those people who run that tourney as the elite national programs don't even bother with that Alaska tourney anymore. As that Alaska tourney proved to be for MTSU when MTSU won it just a couple of years ago, it is still a decent reputable tourney for G5 types or dare I say "mid-majors." I want to think that another one down on the islands during the holidays has typically had a pretty good reputation. Is it the San Juan shootout or something similar??? Maybe it has the name Puerto Rico something or another??? Also, I don't know if it still has the reputation it seemed to have a handful of years ago. Anyone recall the name of that holiday tourney?
