FOOTBALL article about a walk-on

Love this stuff...I wish we would encourage more guys to walk on and give it a go. And maybe we do. At our level, you would think we could find some guys who could help us.

I have an All-State player from Marion County that wants to walk-on (Josh Henderson) that has not heard from the staff. He is labeled as an athlete and I could see him as an impact on special teams. I sent a DVD to them several weeks ago, but they may not have had time to evaluate him.

I'm gonna be blunt - they probably haven't watched it. FBS football programs receive more film than they can watch so the DVD was probably thrown into a pile of DVDs that will never be watched.

His best bet is to stop by the football office sometime during normal business hours and ask what is required to walk on.

After watching some film, Henderson is a walk-on candidate but I wouldn't guarantee he would make the cuts at this time.
