New video board at Floyd...

There is the kid zone with bounce houses, cotton candy, and other things like face painting. Personally I would not want them to take out the seating to just leave it open.

Food trucks under the grand stands was a nice addition last season and seemed to be busy with fans. We just need more people in seats. We always start with a nice crowd for a game or two then it dies off. I think a lot of that has to do with our schedules being front heavy.

I wish they would use some students to do a student ran stand for concessions. We need another Blue Raider brat truck and maybe another cart that has better options than just a hot dog. Give us something a little different to buy besides the same worn out popcorn, candy and hot dogs.

BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee has posted its 2024-25 Men's Roster

I think that's the new baseline moving forward due to the portal, probably the case for most mid-major teams. Every season will be a mostly new squad. If that turns into wins, I'm fine with it. I have always thought the portal is kind of an equalizer in basketball. Kids want minutes. If an upperclassman is 6th or 7th man at a P5, finish your college career at a mid-major playing 35+ mins a game and fill that stat sheet. Dendy, Jacory Williams and Nick King come to mind.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this year based on what I have heard. Probably the most talent CNM has had here.
The NCAA average was 6 transfers/graduates per team last season. The issue I see is those 6 are usually a couple transfers that were not getting playing time, a couple graduates and a couple transferring for greener pastures. So of those players, 3-4 per team were contributors. Our issue is likely all 9 will be either main building blocks or role players. We’re not losing anyone that isn’t expected to get solid minutes and that’s before anyone decides if they want to transfer. We could be looking at replacing 12ish players out of 15 based on historical data.

FOOTBALL Positional Preview: Quarterback

Always been a Vattiato fan. I think his legs are an underrated part of his game. Great scrambling ability. Curious to see what he can do this year.

The Gagliano kid looks like a grown man in his high school videos. Certainly has the arm talent. He could be a really good one for us. Surprised he didn't go to a lower level P5.

Honestly not that impressed with the Richesson kid, but you never know.

Don't really have an opinion on the Charlotte transfer. Hard to take a QB seriously that throws for 51%. Maybe they can bring him in for some wildcat packages.
I think the Charlotte transfer was brought in for depth with his eligibility running the same as Vattiato’s. He was a backup at Charlotte too but had a solid game in his one start against Maryland. Adds a more dynamic running aspect to the table for sure so like you said wouldn’t be surprised if they ran some packages for him similar to what Stock wanted to do with DJ Riles

FOOTBALL Favorite uniform combo?

Since you brought it up why do we have silver helmets and gray pants?

It was like that with Stock and Mason is doing the same thing. It's one thing that seems odd. Didn't Boots have silver britches back in the day? It's always looked "off" to me having both grey and silver. Also, keep in mind the silver helmet was never a thing until Boots brought it to be his first year in 1979, so from a traditional perspective white and blue were the first helmet colors we had before '79. While I really like the silver helmet one of the official secondary colors for MT is gray. But I would be fine with silver pants. I just don't like the silver helmet with gray pants. The only other thing I don't like is the blue helmet. Given our colors are so close to Kentucky it looks like a UK helmet.

I like just about all the other combos. I think the logo pops best on the white helmet but then again I wish the pegaus was gone and the MT on the helmet was a couple of centimeters larger.
