BASKETBALL NIL/Collective for mens basketball only

I can adamantly say, if they got rid of football they would lose me. I know we suck but I would not be able to be 100% invested without it. I know there are a lot of others they’d lose as well.
Honestly, I can give two craps about basketball. I just never had any interest in it. I watch the tournament the first weekend, then I stop.

There are no rules that forbid this, yet. It's a valid strategy and it's why I have been saying just shut football down and go all in on basketball.

I have no interest in being a farm team for the big football schools. With basketball, at least in the current environment, I think we could have a chance if we put all our resources into it. That could very well change in the future, but there's certainly an opportunity window right now for us in my opinion.
Worked for Gonzaga... Focusing on basketball I am referring to.

II am not suggesting we end football only that we prioritize men's basketball as that gives us the best chance to make a dent nationally and build our fanbase, that will hopefully overflow into football. The problem with concentrating on football is that you need too many players to be good. We don't have the budget to buy that many players. If we do get a good player for one year, he will just leave for more money after one good season, so why waste the money in the first place? I hate that college athletics have come to this, but our leaders should be looking at this trying to find a way to game the system. We should be stretching our dollars as far as possible.
We essientally already could do that but we are allowing fans to decide where their money goes. If you want money to buy basketball players you can donate to the MBB and do that. For me, I prefer the money go to something tangible, so I am spending mine towards Build Blue (for athletics). I also donate towards the Jones College of Business for academics, which I hope everyone is donating to an academic cause too (if donating to the school). Just my opinion though.

I think crassyblue is on to something. I think we'll be able to see some bench players in and doing great in this one. MT 79, NKU 52. I think Boldyreva and Blakely both have double doubles!
You almost nailed the score. The offense & defense will both get better with time, this is just game 1. Blakely had a ton of missed layups. Those will come. Have a feeling Davis is going to play a huge role with this team as the #6 off the bench. Such a smooth shooter. CRI acknowledged Monson as the #4 backup. She played well. I think this team may have more potential than I originally thought. Scott looked in mid-season form, & may be the surprise POY when all is said & done.

BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee vs Oglethorpe, 11AM, Monday, November 4, 2024

Hard to tell how good we are versus a DIII team. Torey Alston was impressive for a freshman. Porter picked up where he left off from last season which is good. Weston looked better than I thought he would be after his injury. Free throw shooting was poor and defense was sloppy. We have to get tougher in the post on offense and defense if we want to win CUSA.
