Its hard to believe how bad our running game was...3.8 yds per carry and the 19 fumbles. I like the pass heavy approach and believe with some improvements our yards per carry should be closer to 5. The passing game should open up the running game. It was a quandary this past year.
Completely agree. We were 124th in net punting this year. We were tied for 93rd in turnover margin. If we are just average in punting and turnover margin, we win a few more games.
I think Jevonte Herrod was a big part of the gameplan in the early fall for short yardage situations and he got hurt for the season right before it started so we had to change up what we were gonna do. Herrod will be a big part this year. A 230-240 lb RB will change things on the short side and I think the line will be better and more experienced too. We will improve in that area.
I said earlier this season I think having a running qb helps the running backs . It makes D's hesitate just enough to bust a play. I think having guys like Grammer and Dasher make our O line look like better run blockers than they were. Similar to what the Titans look like handing the ball to Johnson post VY. Having said that we put more yards and points this year than last so I will make that trade.
