I like the podcast but there are a few things I thought I'd add.
1. Manciel will start at DT but it's already been said that he will split time at the DE position as well. He's playing next to Brady because those 2 played next to each other in high school and the speed they both bring will allow them to create pressure. However, Milk has gotten time at Right DE as well.
2. The DT position will have a lot of rotation. Nix, Ferguson and a few others will . be in and out based on which package we roll with.
3. We will be a multiple D running out of a 4-3 set. However, we will line up in 4-4 and even a 5-2 depending on the situation and how Shafer is wanting to trick the QB.
4. Brady is a complete upgrade over Rhodes. Manciel will be more productive than Huff was.
5. Shafer calls from the box and uses a lot of pre-snap movement and likes to disguise plays. Shurmer is gonna see stuff from us he has never seen before so it won't be a cut and dry case that he is gonna mangle us. He looked rusty as heck in their second scrimmage.
6. C.J. Windham will be a factor in this game. He has had a tremendous offseason. Mike Minter thinks he's right up there with James now. He fights for every ball and has very good hands. Another WR that may get field time is 6-6 Jimmy Marshall.
7. We don't have to stop Webb, we just have to slow him down. I'll be honest. That starts with the LB's more than the DL. Under Nix, we lined them up 6-7 yard off of the LOS. That changes this year.
8. If you have watched a practice or a scrimmage clip. Our D is tackling much better than last year by far. They are wrapping up so much better and our getting to the ball much faster. This will also be a key factor.
9. The reason we lost last year wasn't Webb. It was us turning the ball over 6 times. I'm counting the botched punt return by Richie and the 2 turnovers on downs as turnovers. Vandy scored on 5 of those turnovers. It's on us. If we complete drives and don't turn it over, we are in this thing til the end.
10. Vandy is not Bama. This is a team that went 6-6 and got crushed by another 6-6 NC State team. Yeah, they beat UT but UT turned the ball over like us and their total D was ranked right there with us. They were bad.
