signees could have early returns

You'd think the JUCO's and midtermer (Brooks) would be a lock to play. Why bring in a JUCO if you have to redshirt him anyway?

Other than that, I don't see a whole lot of guys in this class who look to be on the field next year.

That's not a knock on the recruits, but the fact that we've got a solid program that has some depth throughout all the classes.

I agree about the JUCO's but Brooks being a midterm enrollee may give him an advatage over the other freshman but that doesn't mean he will not redshirt. Especially if Heard qualifies. There will be JUCOs and returning players ahead of him. It may be best to save his eligibility.

I agree 100%.

I just like guys who get in for Spring practices. They're usually well ahead of the curve for other freshman.

Looking over the returning CBs - we have JaMarcus Howard, Singletary, Mike Minter, Daryl Randolph, and Frost-Dixon.

You figure Singletary has one corner locked up, but the 2nd corner and the nickel corner are wide open.

I hope Heard can get qualified. Too bad Akins shot himself in the foot.

I'll lay down money that Brooks will play in the fall. He's an upgrade and we lost a lot of depth at CB. Heard may not qualify. If that happens, Brooks is playing no doubt.

Personally I don't care about redshirts. I want the best out there playing and we sucked at db last year. Hello hail mary in the endzone at FIU. We need peeps with adjustment and closing speed. He's got it.
