BASKETBALL Shuler enters portal

Man, it didn’t take them long to zap his bio from the Go Blue Raiders site. Is this move due to the Cameron Johnson grad transfer from SFA????

When the other player from IRMO entered the portal, I thought we would not hold on to Shuler. Surprised it took so long...

Whatever CNM is capable of doing (which at this point doesn't seem like much) he won't be able to do with a new roster every single year. Need to have some kind of consistency. Also SFA transfer was not going to impact Shuler's minutes most likely.

This transfer portal is making it impossible to keep up anymore or have any basis to predict whether you have a good or bad team. It makes coaching up even more important.

I was checking in on the Golfstat scoreboard from the Stillwater regional where the BR team was playing and the team had just passed College of Charleston and Ole Miss into 10th place and I was hoping we could pass just a few more even though all hope of making it to the nationals was gone.
Then within a couple of minutes we dropped back again to 12th (ahead of #35 Bammer who we did finish ahead of) and I saw the announcement that Shuler was leaving. Talk about a double whammy. Ruined the rest of my day.

As an aside: What could have been our golf team (Coach, players, signees) finished 2nd in their regional. Of course, they were wearing Urenge.

I was 11 years old when Flood refused to be traded to the Phillies. He and Lou Brock were my favorite baseball players as a kid.
Lou Brock was the most kind athlete I ever met. Before the game he would play catch with many of the youngsters. I once played pepper with him. You could not knock the grin off my face for months.
It would do a lot for the game of baseball to have their players spend time with kids before a game. Oh the memories.

I only know of Flood because my old summer ball coach was in the Phillies system at the time and was a piece of the proposed trade that led to Flood fighting for free agency. I'm right at 50.

So this opens up the 14th scholarship we are allowed this year. I wish we had more insight on targets or if they are going to fill that spot. I don't see why they wouldn't, but who knows.

Based on returning players (8 including Sims), signees (1 - Jefferson) and 4 verbals (Johnson, Weston, Turner & Lenard, Jr.) we are at 13 leaving room for one more since Sims is on a "free" year. But as you said: who knows.
I could see some cash-strapped programs holding the line at the normal 13 or even fewer. Some of our signees/verbals seem to be somewhat shots-in-the dark so I personally would like to see one (or more if some verbals don't hold) with obviously higher upside.
As for getting publicly available information on targets. This staff keeps it close; we seem to offer and get commits within hours. A real difference between this staff and the previous one which seemed to shotgun offers around hoping it would work out, and it usually did late in their tenure.

I understood Kermits offensive and defensive philosophy.. I don't understand anything were doing now. Can someone please explain?

We like to give up offensive rebounds and not help out on defense. But where we really thrive is turning the ball over in a 1 possession game with less than 30 seconds on the clock. All about that game management! #TrueBlue
