Good point. We sure did. Lost on road 71-57. That has to be an error.Did we not play Belmont on the road last season also?
I saw someone ask the same thing on the team Facebook post. Matt replied saying that Belmont came here two years in a row a while back.Did we not play Belmont on the road last season also?
I wouldn't even count Grand Canyon as they are part of the conference scheduling agreement with the WAC. As is us playing at Cal Baptist. When the schedule was first released I had an initial reaction but decided to let it go and come back to it later. Which I have now done and am just as disappointed as I was initially.
Yes, the away/neutral site games are good and reflect where we are as a program. It’s not difficult to set those up.
The home schedule is embarrassing. We are coming off a round of 32 appearance and the marquee home match is against Grand Canyon! Seriously, that’s the best we can do?
In fact, there are only 3 home games in November and one in December. And it’s the local school game.
We had season tickets from ‘09-‘21 so went back and randomly looked at our home schedule to compare.
2013-14, UTenn, UKY, & South Dakota St
2015-16, UVirginia, Ole Miss, Kentucky, & Missouri State.
2017-18, Troy, Kentucky
2019-20, Kentucky, VCU, & TCU.
2021-22, E Carolina, Vandy, SIU
2023-24, Memphis & Princeton.
Just a real head scratcher and disappointing for those who buy season tickets. Not buying that Grand Canyon is the best we can do.
In the latest episode, I interviewed CRI and he made it a point that his program is good enough that these big schools need to sign on a deal to come back to Murfreesboro. Hence, why Tennessee is coming to M'boro next year. Why we had Louisville last year. He wants big games to fill his non-conference schedule and stay ahead of the NET rankings because, let's be honest, CUSA hurts our rankings even if we win by 20+. So he has to play big schools, but most are scared to return the favor and come back to M'boro. When the schedule was first released I had an initial reaction but decided to let it go and come back to it later. Which I have now done and am just as disappointed as I was initially.
