Fully expecting Charlotte to run it down our throats. These coaches have lost this team.
Also, the coaches are ultimately accountable for what happens on the field, period. If the players are not good enough to execute, then who's fault is that? Who recruited said players? Who is coaching said players throughout the week and during the off season?
Our play on the field is a direct manifestation of our coaching staff. The staff recruited the players. They groomed the players. They teach the players. They decide who starts and who sits.
Yes, the players have to ultimately go out there and execute. But bad execution for ten consecutive games (and if we go back to last year we could extend this further) is not a player or two not executing. When a team is consistently as bad as we are on the defensive side of the ball for consecutive double digit games then you know there are core fundamental problems with the interworkings of the defense, and that all goes back on Nix.
I cannot believe he made these comments to the local paper. I've actually got a small bit of confidence now that Stock might fire him now despite my previous belief that Stock was too stubborn to change anything.
Let's go out there and get a bright young mind who can kick @$$ on the recruiting trail and bring some life back to the defensive side of the ball!
