new commit

Trying to set something up with Will for tonight. This one definitely slipped through the cracks this weekend!

Does that kid look tiny or what.

Seems to have good vision and a knack for finding holes, and doesn't shy away from contact. Looks more quick than fast.

We've found a diamond in the rough with Des Anderson. Maybe we have another one here.

He's small but damn he's stout. Kid squats 545 pounds and benches 345!

I just got done setting up something for tonight with him. MT was his first and only offer but Army was coming on pretty strong as well.

He looks shifty as hell but a little slow. Does he have verified time?

Edit. I know I could search but for some reason my work filter doesn't catch gomiddle but sometime catches the database searches. Trying to stay off the radar. I don't want it to start catching this.

I believe it. The highlights I watched, the kid never ran out of bounds, and never went down easily.

I'm curious about the 40 time as well. He didn't look like a burner, but Teke said it best - he was really shifty.

You don't necessarily need great straight line speed if you can find and get through the holes, and this kid doesn't seem to have a problem with that.

I asked him if his measurables and times were legit and he said yeah, not that there's many kids who will correct that if their numbers are actually worse, though...

This kid reminds me of Ryan Brewer. A kid that did well at South Carolina under Lou Holtz. Maybe a future fullback but is a hard nosed tailback as well. I would like to see how well he catches it out of the backfield.

Space: On the men's BkB visitors, got any names? I've noticed that several on our list have committed elsewhere. Sure would like some men's BkB recruiting news.

My info is 2nd hand, a recruit named Isaiah was mentioned to me and there is one listed on verbal commits.com as a prospect, 6-9 NC power forward, last name Whaley, so I suppose one could be him.

Spoke with Will last night. Solid kid and one that is truly grateful to have this opportunity in front of him.

His dad actually knows Stock from way back in the day (perhaps high school but will wasn't totally sure), so MT naturally had a leg up in recruiting. Will's been coming to campus at MT for years now.

He did suffer a pretty gnarly knee injury between his sophomore and junior year (torn ACL and partially torn meniscus), thus slowing down potential recruitment opportunities, and he's been on the shelf this year with a high ankle sprain until now, so his game film is behind this year as well.

Sounds like there are schools wanting to see him in action, but he said it won't matter one bit. He's MT through and through. Committed directly to Stock after the Charlotte game.

There's gotta be another plan here. Perhaps fullback, maybe LB?? There's no way this kid plays RB here.

Stock has been known to give scholarships to his friends kids' even though they might be fringe players and not really FBS level. Richie Bissacia would be an example.

I am not excited about this one at this point in time. Just don't see a fit here. We are loaded at RB.
We lose two this year and two next year. The rest are unknowns. The cupboard could be bare by the end of his redshirt year.

I thought he had solid video. Straight line speed would be my only concern. He definately looked like he had RB skills - vision, timing, shiftyness, etc.

And again, speed can be overrated at times as an RB. Parker's no burner. Emmitt Smith wasn't either.

If you can pick your holes, follow your blockers, and pick up 4-5 yds per carry, you're good.

Good post, Doug.

The thing with this one is, his dad is with the cowboys this only helps get kids evaluated more since he is probably watching games and may notice a diamond that other scouts missed on.

I don't see this guy as a FBS RB in our system. I see him as a slot (H) WR in the MT offense
