"The June 2020 edition of Middle Tennessee State University‘s TV magazine show, "Out of the Blue,” features Zoom interviews with three professors discussing nationally-recognized programs and projects that are providing one-of-a-kind opportunities for students. Join us to hear from:

• Dr. Dave Wood, Martin Chair of Insurance in the Jones College of Business, highlights the amazing career opportunities of MTSU's number one nationally ranked Risk Management and Insurance program.

• Dr. Jennifer Kates, English professor and Director of MTSU Write, discusses this from-home mentorship program within the English Department. It is a three-semester program, working with new and experienced writers in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenwriting, and playwriting.

• Paul Chilsen, an associate professor in the Department of Media Arts shares his journey leading a team of film production students into the Amazon rainforest of Brazil - a project that got the attention of National Geographic."

The July 2020 edition of Middle Tennessee State University‘s TV magazine show, "Out of the Blue,” features Zoom interviews with three professors involved in undergraduate research, a top-performing College of Business program, and a brand new building on campus.

Join us to hear from:

• Jette Halladay from the College of Liberal Arts as she leads an undergraduate research project that takes the stories from elementary children and performs them with the help of MTSU students.

• Rick Moffett from the College of Behavioral and Health Science discusses the long-awaited new building which will open in Fall 2020, and the many resources it holds for students in the Criminal Justice Administration, Social Work, and Psychology programs.

• Cliff Welborn from the Jones College of Business talks with Andrew about the Supply Chain Management program and Middle Tennessee's need for "ready to work" graduates in this field.

 
The August 2020 edition of Middle Tennessee State University‘s TV magazine show, "Out of the Blue,” features Zoom interviews with three university leaders who've been working on our safe return to campus for students, faculty, staff and guests this fall.

Join us to hear from:

• Dr. Eric Clark, medical director of MTSU's Student Health Services, who reminds us of the requirements for social distancing and masks and has tips for students to keep themselves and others safer when they're on campus.

• Dr. Mark Byrnes, university provost and chair of MTSU's COVID-19 Strategic Task Force, who explains the five class formats MTSU students and faculty will be using to learn and teach this fall, including traditional, online, remote, hybrid and web-assisted courses.

• Dr. Deb Sells, vice president for student affairs and vice provost for enrollment and academic services at MTSU, who has updates on changes in on-campus living, including dorm move-in appointments and private dorm rooms, along with changes in activities and special events.

 
• Dr. Betsy Dalton from the Department of Communication Studies in the College of Liberal Arts, who describes what students will find this semester in the program's new Health Communication concentration.

• Dr. Danny Kelley, our assistant vice president for student affairs, who details how MTSU's Connection Point events for students, scheduled throughout the fall, will continue with social-distancing procedures.

• Dr. Robert Summers, who's returned to his alma mater as our new vice provost for international affairs, as he describes how international education, including study-abroad courses, offers benefits for learning along with a significant cultural impact.

 
In October's edition of MTSU "Out of the Blue," we explore the university's 70-year partnership with the Army, expand on the vast resources of the MTSU Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center, and we travel to Kentucky to skydive with the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Welcome to the annual holiday episode of Middle Tennessee State University‘s TV magazine show, "Out of the Blue." In this episode, we visit with Dr. Reed Thomas and the MTSU Wind Ensemble as they perform Christmas music from the Student Union Building. And we take a trip to the Homer Pittard Campus School with Santa's helper, MTSU men's basketball coach, Nick McDevitt where he reads "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to the children.
