I suspect it was worse watching our staff decide that playing Blankenship on an underneath route and having only one man deep on 4th and 25 probably was worse.

If I actually cared much anymore I would have probably thrown something at the TV. It's just so utterly indicative of the stupidity of how this program is run and how CRS game manages. I'm so done with it I just don't even care anymore to get mad at them. The whole thing is steaming pile of poo.

Tell me about it. I don't understand why they can't just play a quarters coverage there and force Rice into a short throw or a really risky deep route. The very clear and basic miscues just happen way too often with this staff. I understand there will be major gaffes here and there over a coaches career, but we are way beyond that with this staff.

I've been such a big fan of Shafer ever since he got here but I'm really starting to like him less and less as I watch his defenses. I love the attacking style that he normally brings on game day but there are some situations where running man free is not the answer. Sometimes you need to just sit down and chill out in a quarters or a cover 2 and make the opposing offense earn it.
