MT is coming off a Thanksgiving holiday tournament in which they had a victory over Purdue, & a loss to #15 Iowa State. Middle Tennessee currently has a Net Ranking of #65. The Lady Raiders will be a heavy favorite as they look to get their offense going after a sluggish tournament. SIUE may be the perfect opponent for the Raiders as they arrive at the Murphy Center with a 1-5 record, & a #311 Net Ranking.

SIU-Edwardsville has looked better than their 1-5, 0-4 record against D1 opponents would say. They had a pair of close games with Loyola-Chicago and, in particular their road game at UCF. They trailed the Knights by just 4 points with under 4 minutes to play but couldn't close the gap. MTSU is the better team, but SIUE has been volatile this year. They lost to D2 - Missouri-St. Louis to start the season and narrowly won a Q2 road game at UCF.

The Cougars have found something in Brianna Wooldridge (#25, 6'1" F) who leads the team in both points (10.3) and rebounds (5.3) per game. Her production has cooled off of late scoring in the single digits against UCF and DePaul due to, in my opinion, being an undersized center. Macie Silvey (#4, 5'10" G) has been their most impressive of late averaging 2 made 3PTs/game. She averages a modest 9.3 ppg as the team's second leading scorer but is a career 33% 3FG shooter that you can't afford to lose in transition. Molly Sheehan (#14, 5'8" PG) has heated up scoring 11 points in consecutive games and eclipsed 5 assists twice this season.

For SIUE, the offense is where they need to have success to have a chance today. Unfortunately, they're playing one of CUSA's top scoring defenses and MT has the size in the post to limit Wooldridge and the resources to stay on a shooter like Silvey. Should be a stock day on defense for the Lady Raiders as long as they can clean up on the boards where SIUE averages almost 12 Offensive Rebounds/game. SIUE is one of the worst 3FG defenses in the OVC allowing opponents 33% 3FG on the season. We should get some open looks today and if we can knock them down early we could see a replay of last week's FAMU game.

Very good win today by 44. Really enjoyed seeing Savannah Davis and Meioshe Mason have fantastic games. Good bounce back effort with great shooting, hope that carries over to next two difficult matchups with Belmont and KSU.
