The team has spent the entire half missing from 3. Finally put Boldyreva in & gives her 30 seconds before putting her back on bench. What the heck? Give her at least 2 minutes to get settled coach.

One of those halves that when a team is struggling from outside is fairly easy to coach. Put your 2 best post players in, Boldyreva & Malashka. Tell the team to settle down & punch it inside. Only take outside shot when totally wide open & squared up. That is easy for everyone except our coaches. Just shoot it wildly.
Got a 4 point lead, easily could be in double digits

Wow. Totally unexpected. Would be a total waste of a year if there's only a minimum desire to play a minute or 2 here or there. The plan may be to get her more playing time when we have a more dominant start. Ncaa starts 03/17. Got almost 2 months to get her comfortable against competition. Coaches probably want her power & height against the power teams come March.

The student has to decide to redshirt at the first of their second semester. When recruited a blurb in the paper talked about her having a 4.0 GPA while taking classes like honors physics, math, and other classes that count towards college credit. She might have made the decision herself by telling them that she will be graduating early and or on time. I don't know this for a fact, but it makes more sense than her getting in just a little in the last 2 months of the season.

Whatever the surrounding circumstance is Coach Matt posted a team photo after the victory in Charlotte with players, friends & family. Miss Riley has a great smile & appears very happy. Great to have what appears to be an excellent basketball player & student! Hope she can help an already excellent team to be even better & deeper. Keep going ladies!

Yes. In practice, she is great at rebounding and scoring around the basket, but she can also shoot the three pointer. I think red-shirts are going to become less effective with players able to transfer easily.

Obviously her decision, and if she’s able to play in some games while continuing to ace her education this early on, that’s phenomenal. Happy for her! And glad we have her!
