Whether floods or tornadoes it is obvious that we have always had and will in the future have disasters which affect the mid-state. Would it be feasible for the MT athletic department to have a plan in place to offer assistance in the form of athletes who could help in whatever form possible? We need to reach out to the mid-state where most of our students are from, where our alumni are concentrated, and where we need athletic support.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if a bus load of MT FB players were assisting in disaster relief somewhere this morning. I can imagine the positive feedback from having players in MT shirts helping or a MT bus parked alongside other rescue vehicles, not to mention the obvious and most important benefit to the student/athletes who participate.
I am aware of the positive publicity an area high school football team got by helping in the 2010 flood. If you were the athletic director at MT wouldn't you have a plan in place to offer manpower immediately after any disaster in the immediate area?
