Additionally, why isn't cutting sports on the table? MTSU can half-ass fund all sports or fully fund a few programs. What is the minimum needed for C-USA membership? Cutting is terrible for the student athletes, but sometimes need to cut the finger to save the arm.
The only one I can name would be “Big Joe on the go” Dubin Channel 4 morning reporter. I think he played football for Samford but graduated from MTSU.
I think 16 is the minimum NCAA number in order to play FBS football. If I’m counting correctly, I believe we are currently at 17. So even if we were to cut something, it would have to be only one sport unless the discussion turned into also dropping football to FCS.

You are right. My guess is we would cut men’s indoor, outdoor or cross country if we cut anything. As someone mentioned, we can’t go below 16 & stay D1 football. Since we can spread scholarships across both track teams & to cross country, not sure how much that would actually save us. Especially since we are propped up & subsidized so heavily by student fees.
