I just watched the first 5 minutes of Jeremy Pruitt’s postgame presser.
He’s already using the “C” word.

Said he saw his guys still competing despite adversity early in the FLA game. It was over at halftime.

I have no problem with Pruitt saying it. He's in his first year at UT with a terrible roster. In this situation, as a coach, all you can ask of UT's terrible roster (by SEC standards) is to "compete" and to play fast/aggressive - even when the ball bounces the other way.

The problem arises when a HC in his 12th+ year loses his 4th straight game to a OOC rival, 3rd straight to CUSA rival, or is otherwise dominated in a winnable game and the first words out of his mouth are "we competed." A HC in his 12th+ year should have a conference championship to his name and should have depth to be in the fight for a conference championship on an annual basis.
