FB RECRUITING Jimmy Marshall officially commits to MTSU...

I did not realize until just now that the time stamp on the tweet when post here is given as pacific time. In your twitter feed the actual time posted is central...

Mixed feelings about this one. Obviously his size is great but he doesn't appear to be the fastest kid on the block. Sometimes it can be difficult to gauge speed though on taller, long legged receivers. He could bulk up and be a pass catching tight end, or stay slim and play on the outside. Would like to see him catch balls at a higher point but the throws weren't always the best from his QB. Reminds me of a poor mans Randy Moss and a skinnier version of the former Chris McClover.

Surely the coaches have seen him in camp and know he is a legit prospect, but can't help wonder why he doesn't even have FCS offers listed.

Finishing up my story on Jimmy now but I address this in the article. He's a two sport star at Tattnall who some consider to be a better basketball prospect than a football prospect. He flew under the radar in football after dealing with an injury his sophomore year (don't quote me on this but I want to say I read something about a knee injury knocking him out for a year).

I'll say this, though, he camped at MT and personally caught the eye of Tony Franklin. I spoke with a source today who told me that Franklin thinks this kid can open up another dimension to his offense. That's crazy talk, right? But that's how much he impressed TF and the staff.

He also "committed" two months ago. Can I just say how hard it was to sit on a name for two months! Sheesh...

Well that's good to know he camped here and passed the eye test. If it was a personal evaluation and offer from Tony Franklin then I'm sure he's solid. Interested to see how his senior year goes. I imagine the lower and mid-tier offers will start to pour in now that he's committed to us. We should be done with WR's for this class considering how many we signed last year and have on the roster now? Lots of offensive players already committed.

Would like to see this class mostly be defensive players as that's where we really need to improve.
