BASKETBALL It was seven years ago today

that most fans awoke to the news that Middle Tennessee had defeated UCLA by 20 points out on the west coast in a game that started late the night before. I stayed up to listen to it and didn't go to sleep until after work the next day...



Record-breaking night for Blue Raiders in marquee victory over UCLA

This was the night the MTSU program truly turned a corner. Everything was uphill afterward. Higher expectations were on every season after that.

I remember that expectations were very high going into that year. Kermit had his best recruiting class on the court (Massey, Dendy, Knight, Cintron). I'm not sure if any of us expected the kind of success that would follow, however. Hopefully, McDevitt can keep us rolling.

I watched that game on a west coast Fox affiliate. UCLA was stuck in cement in comparison to us that night. We had beaten Loyola Marymount the night before. Dendy had a great night if I recall.

I forgot how well we played that game. We shot 71.4% from the field and 90.9% from 3.
